SONGS RECORDED:

  • Love Rollercoaster

Almost nothing is known about this recording. It was recorded at some point during a break in touring in 1996 (it's not an out-take from the One Hot Minute sessions) and released on the Beavis and Butthead Do America soundtrack for Geffen. The song was chosen by Mike Judge, the show's creator. It was never played live and as far as I'm aware only ever acknowledged once by the band: in a September 1996 issue of Musician. Dave only played two shows with them after November 1996 and very little press was done around this time.

Syliva Massy co-produced it; she had a working relationship with Rick Rubin at the time and was there at his suggestion. She also recorded a few tracks for Flea's shelved solo album. Supposedly the band recorded it in two hours.

ALTERNATES/MIX DIFFERENCES:

  • Love Rollercoaster - Rock rollercoaster mix
Different drum and bass sound, less kazoo. Only available on a promo CD but can be heard here.

  • Love Rollercoaster - dub mix
Produced by Sylvia Massy, but unreleased.
