“Bluesy as can be. For me, the signature for ‘Carry Me Home’ is the intro notes of John’s solo, because it starts off with John just wailing. It was a song that I wasn’t in love with for ten minutes, and then it grew on me steadily until now, every time we play this at rehearsal, I absolutely adore it. Lyrically it’s in the tone of “Born on the 4th of July,” a film about a Vietnam vet. The sensation of needing for there to be more kindness on both sides of the fence at all times.”
